最后的“连家船”
“连家船”是对疍民船一种称谓，疍民的传统是终生居邻居住船上，便有了“水上吉普赛人”之称。学术界较主流的观点则认为疍民主要源于古代的百越，是居水的越人遗民。
每一家基本上具备三件套：大的是居住、小船是捕鱼的、本排是登陆用。
早年上岸定居的疍民则在江畔、港湾滩涂兴建干栏式民居。先在地面打上木桩，然后或是将原先的连家船架于其上作为房屋，或是在木桩上铺设木板建设房屋，其内部空间非常狭小，这种房屋被称为“四脚楼”或“提脚房”。
疍民生活也很原生，日出而作，日落而息。
他们修船的工具也是很原生的鲁班式的：
2009年底坊间传闻要整治闽江“连家船”，我花了两个星期拍《最后连家船》资料，不出所料2010年1月报纸上有了消息，让我十分庆幸，我的照片成了史料。
