据CTV新闻获悉，当总理马克·卡尼于周二公布新内阁名单时，超半数成员将首次入阁，而任职多年的内阁部长克里斯蒂娅·弗里兰则将退出内阁。
总理办公室表示，新内阁阵容将更精简，核心内阁成员控制在30人以内，同时将任命最多10名国务部长。
